Airport Construction

The construction of the first air traffic control tower at the Hammond Northshore Regional Airport continues at a steady pace. Today the top floor or the “cab” as it is referred to, was lifted and placed atop the tower. The section hoisted weighed a whopping 61,000 lbs. Construction will continue with the assembly of the interior of the building followed by installation of air traffic control systems.
