Hammond Northshore Regional Airport Notice
The Hammond Northshore Regional Airport will be closed to all fixed wing traffic from midnight 31 October until 8:00 A.M. on 19 November for phase I of our runway intersection rehabilitation project. Demolition of the old runway intersection will begin immediately after the 31 October shutdown. During this period the airport will be open to rotary wing aircraft (helicopters) only. Taxiway lights and the rotating beacon will remain on but all runway lighting and navigational aids will be turned off during this period. The control tower will maintain normal hours (0800 – 1800) to support helicopter traffic. Once all phases of the project are complete, we will have a much stronger and safer runway to better serve the community’s needs. Please continue to visit this page/site for updates; the construction company will be working 24/7 during this first phase and it is possible that they may complete it before 19 November.
