Road Closure Update

Mayor Panepinto urges everyone to stay off the roads. If the water looks too high on a road, turn around.
The City of Hammond has closed the following streets due to high water:
500 Block of Old Covington Hwy
E Morris Ave from Orange St to Range Rd
E Thomas St from Orange St to Range Rd
N Hazel St and W Charles St to W Morris
Rue Simone by the Circle K Store
Timberlane Dr
N Chestnut St and E Church
N Chestnut from Thomas to Hanson
N Oak St and Silman Ave
N Oak and Mallard
University Ave and Pecan St
W Church St and Magnolia St
W Thomas and Olive St
W Thomas and Range Rd Vineyard Rd
E Morris Ave and Cate St
Whitmar Subdivision Roads
Woodbridge Subdivision Roads
Mooney Ave and Phoenix Sq
Mooney and W Morris
Whitman Subdivision
Woodbridge Subdivision
Sandbags are available for pick-up at the City’s 190 Facility (18104 US Highway 190 East).
Hammond Northshore Regional Airport
As of now, both runways remain open and the Airport continues to drain, with the exception of the normal areas that puddle. Standing water on the West Terminal ramp is significant, but as of now, there is no water in any hangars anywhere on the airfield as far as the Airport Director can tell.
