Chief Bergeron is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University and Slidell Regional Police Academy who joined the Hammond Police Department in 2000. Before he was selected as Chief of Police in March of 2019, he gained professional experience in multiple divisions within the Hammond Police Department. Bergeron also worked in conjunction with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners in his role as a Task Force officer and has served as Sergeant of Hammond Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit.
