Medline is proposing to build a distribution center at 2100 Industrial Park Road in Hammond. Public Meetings

All meetings take place in the Hammond City Council Chambers at 312 East Charles Street unless noted otherwise.
 
October 8 – Planning & Zoning, 5:00pm
The commission held a public hearing and voted to recommend rezoning 41 acres related to the Medline project with conditions.

 
October 19 – City Council, 5:30pm, Kenney Center, 601 West Coleman Avenue
The council hosted a special meeting for the public to voice their opinions of the proposed Medline project. Medline presented information at the beginning of the meeting and answered questions. No votes were taken at this meeting.

 
November 5 – Planning & Zoning, 5:00pm
The commission held a public hearing and voted to recommend annexation of 17 acres related to the Medline project. The commission also held a public hearing and voted to approve a conceptual site plan (dated 10/30/2020) for the project.

 
November 16 – Planning & Zoning, 5:00pm
The commission held a public hearing and voted to recommend rezoning of 41 acres with conditions related to the Medline project.

 
November 23 – City Council, 5:30pm (please note this is a council meeting on Monday)
The council approved to introduce an ordinance about the rezoning of 41 acres.

 
December 8 – City Council, 5:30pm
The council held a public hearing and adopted an ordinance with conditions to rezone 41 acres.

 
December 22 – City Council, 5:30pm
The council approved to introduce an ordinance to annex 17 acres.

 
January 12 – City Council, 5:30pm
The council held a public hearing and adopted an ordinance with conditions to annex 17 acres.
